Some Thoughts About Del
Deldon McNeely passed away on May 4,2024. Del was one of
the founders of the New Orleans Jungian Seminar. She was
devoted to her family, friends, and was many things to those who
knew and loved her. She was passionate about her work as a
Jungian Psychoanalyst. She was the author of several books and
an active patron of the Baton Rouge and New Orleans Jung
Societies. She worked to bring Jung’s work into the
conversations of the psychoanalytic and psychological groups of
her communities. Del was a teacher, mentor, analyst, and
colleague to many. She was one of the co-founders of the New
Orleans Jungian Seminar. Those of us with the New Orleans
Jungian Seminar benefited from her wisdom, clinical sense, and
compassion. While her health challenges of recent years brought
limitations, they may have slowed her down, but they did not stop
her from living her life with grace, passion, and commitment to the
importance of tending one’s inner life. She was a wise woman
and could light up the dance floor at the IRSJA Banquets in her
day. We will miss her and will join in the Second Line procession
of our hearts New Orleans style… Godspeed Del and “Laissez le
bon temps rouler!“
